Lympha Pod Case Study Opening Paragraph

Addressing Lymphedema in the Severely Overweight with an Innovative Pneumatic Compression Therapy: A Pilot Study

L. VanHoose, S. Kanaan, E. Haynes, T. Messer. Originally presented at the XVII World Meeting of the International Union of Phlebology, September 2013. University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
This study’s objective was identification of additive benefits of a novel pneumatic compression therapy, the LymphaPod® (Lympha Press®, Glen Mills, PA), to a conventional therapy plan for the treatment of lower extremity lymphedema and associated impairments in the severely overweight.
Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema Study 2022

Advanced Pneumatic Compression for Treatment of Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema of the Thorax

Karen Ashforth, MS, OTR, CLT-LANA. January 2022. Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, Stockton, California.
In this case series, three breast cancer-related lymphedema patients with significant thoracic pain, swelling, and fibrosis displayed a significant decrease in arm and thoracic swelling after using intermittent pneumatic therapy at home. Treatment occurred over a subsequent 3-4 week period with a Lympha Press half jacket that treated the thorax with direct compression via a dedicated axillary chamber. Final measurements show a carryover of decongestion for up to three days following Lympha Press treatment, as well as reduced pain symptoms.

The Role of Intermittent Pneumatic Compression in the Treatment of Lower Extremity Chronic Wounds

Surgical Technology International, 2021
This study investigates the effect of intermittent pneumatic compression on a subset of patients with lower extremity wounds associated with venous and/or lymphatic disease, the combination often referred to as “lymphoplebitic” disease.

Promoting a Multidisciplinary Approach to Treating Chronic Edema

Vein Magazine, 2020
The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the three states of lymphatic treatment and the importance of taking a multidisciplinary approach to edema management.

The use of a Peripheral Calibrated Gradient Compression Pump for the Treatment of Chronic Venous Leg Ulcers

Patel M, Pesek E, Lantis JC II. Presented at Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, Spring, May 2019, San Antonio TX USA.
Patients with chronic venous stasis ulcers were treated with Lympha Press® PCD-51™ and multilayer bandaging, at home for eight weeks. All five patients were compliant with the treatment and showed reduction of edema, reduced wound size, odor, pain, and exudate. Four of the five patients had complete wound healing.

Effect of pneumatic compression therapy on lymph movement in lymphedema-affected extremities, as assessed by near-infrared fluorescence lymphatic imaging

Melissa B. Aldrich, Deborah Gross, John Rodney Morrow, Caroline E. Fife and John C. Rasmussen
Lympha Press® gradient, segmental compression therapy is is clinically proven to promote drainage, accelerate healing and reproduce the results of manual lymph drainage for venous disorders, edema and lymphedema.
