Ways to Celebrate Lymphedema Awareness Month

Published: 23 February, 2023

March is Lymphedema Awareness Month, and March 6 is its highlight, World Lymphedema Day. On this day and throughout the month of March, the spotlight is on people with lymphedema, healthcare professionals, and advocacy groups coming together to spread awareness and share support for those living with lymphedema.

Lymphedema is a disorder of the lymphatic system causing severe fluid buildup, swelling, inflammation, wounds, pain, and related health conditions. Up to 10 million people have lymphedema and lymphatic diseases in the U.S., and many millions more worldwide have some level of lymphatic dysfunction. Almost anyone can develop lymphedema for numerous hereditary and health reasons, although people undergoing cancer treatment are at a higher risk of developing lymphedema.

In honor of Lymphedema Awareness Month, take a moment to browse some of the most popular informational content from Lympha Press. We strive for lymphedema awareness all year long through our educational webinars, roundtables, interviews, and articles. Our goal is to elevate patient voices by providing a platform to share their stories and personal experiences.
